Tales of the Underworld
Movie description: Follow the lives of former assassin, Asajj Ventress, and deadly bounty hunter, Cad Bane and their unique stories in the galaxy. In around 19 BBY, after her death by Dooku’s Force lightning, she is laid to rest in the pools of Dathomir and allowed to make a choice to live again by Mother Talzin – later finding a young Jedi in hiding during the time of the Empire. Cad Bane’s story as a poor Duros with a loyal friend, Niro, turns tragedy when the two will later reunite and must face each other in deadly opposition.

1. A Way Forward
[Prologue- about 19 BBY; main story- during or after 18 BBY] After magically returning to life by the powers of Dathomirian witch, Mother Talzin, Asajj Ventress has a brand new life ahead of her. But on a desert world where she can finally lie low, she’s forced to reveal herself when she runs into a young Jedi in hiding named Lyco Strata. Before the two can leave the planet though, they must face a deadly Imperial Inquisitor sent to kill them.

2. Friends
[Sometime during or after 18 BBY] Asajj Ventress and former young Jedi, Lyco Strata, are on the run to find a place to hide from the Empire. In a bustling city, Asajj leads them to some of her former “friends” and bounty hunters, a Theelin known as Latts Razzi and a combat droid known as C-21 Highsinger. Hoping for information regarding ‘The Path’ which could lead them to other Jedi, Ventress and Strata agree to help Razzi and her combat droid steal Imperial equipment in exchange for information. The deal runs bad though when the group is nearly caught and Latts and Highsinger try to bail and leave Ventress and Lyco behind. In the end, Asajj overpowers Latts, forcing her to give Ventress information about The Path.

3. One Warrior to Another
[Sometime during or after 18 BBY] Using the intel the previously obtained, Asajj and Lyco travel to a desert planet in search of Cipher Canyon. After meeting an old Separatist military general there, they agree to help his granddaughter go to obtain more water in exchange for directions to the canyon. Raiders, however, attack them when the obtain the water and they are forced to make a truce and compromise on the water to solve the situation. Asajj bids Lyco farewell when they finally arrive at Cipher Canyon where a ship awaits to take people along The Path. Ventress is surprised though when Lyco abandons following The Path and opts to stay with her instead.

4: Devoted
[Sometime after 62 BBY] Colby (later known as Cad Bane) and his childhood friend, Niro who are both homeless, are seen running through the streets of a busy city, searching for food and things to entertain themselves when one day, a mysterious Duros figure offers them a coin as an ‘investment’. The young boys are amazed to be able to buy real food for the first time and soon find themselves in the Duros ‘businessman’s employ. But their first job serving to distract a business owner goes sour when Niro is caught by police and Colby (Bane) must leave him behind for good to join the ‘businessman’s team.

5. A Good Turn
[Unknown date] Years after Cad Bane (previously known as Colby) joined the Duros criminal boss, Lazlo, Bane finds himself left behind when his gang travels to his home region for an operation. But when Lazlo doesn’t return, having been killed by lawmen during the heist, Bane finds himself full of rage for vengeance. Against the wishes of his girlfriend, Arin, he returns to the place of his boss’s demise to discover that his old childhood friend, Niro, works for the Marshal that killed Lazlo. Blinded by hate, Bane kills the Marshal and is sentenced to prison, but to the dismay of his old friend.

6. One Good Deed
[Unknown date] After serving for some time in prison, Niro and his community are concerned to discover that Cad Bane is released from prison 5 years early due to a technicality. Everyone in the town is concerned- especially for Marshal Niro’s safety. Despite this, Niro maintains an attitude of calm – that is – until Cad shows up to directly confront him immediately following his release. Niro attempts to reason with Bane, but his former friend refuses to listen, and the two enter into a quick shoot-out in which Bane guns down his former friend. In his dying breaths, Niro hints that his son, Isaac, really belongs to Bane.
