Okay fans- with a brand-new Star Wars film out, after six and half years since the last film (‘The Rise of Skywalker’), what was your honest opinion? What did you like? What did you dislike? Here’s mine:
What I liked:
- Great world-building and adventure (Nal Hutta, moon of Shakari)
- Good action and fighting scenes
- Lots of new creatures and species (especially seeing the Dejarik creatures ‘come to life’)
What I disliked:
- The movie was more of a side story than a film that progresses the larger points of Star Wars (like Thrawn’s Empire, Luke’s Jedi Order, restoring Mandalore and the Mandalorians, etc)
- The pacing was sometimes off; really fast-paced for more than half the movie, with a really slow, drawn-out spot when Djarin is injured that lasted way too long- and happened right when a more gripping climactic crescendo should have been taking place
What did you think?

I agree. I think there was too much action, and the action made it feel like filler. The plot was OK, but I noticed the Empire was out of the picture halfway through the movie and it felt like they didn’t matter anymore. Also, I think without this movie, Star Wars in general would not have changed in the slightest. Even Din Djarin and Grogu. Besides a little character development with Grogu, they were kind of lifeless characters in my opinion, and that could have been better. Also Zeb did not feel like the Zeb from Rebels. He was weirdly chill, and he didn’t have a major role in the plot. I really liked the Dejarik-table inspired arena and monsters, as well as Shakari in general. I also loved Nal Hutta. But I have a feeling this was just a few episodes turned into a movie at the last minute to sell Grogu merchandise. Also, I agree. I thought Filoni and Favreau were going to work on a Mandoverse movie fighting Thrawn like the Avengers. But this movie shows no development of that. Also, new Razor Crest? Not a fan. The N-1 is forgotten now and they could have maybe attached part of the lower half of the Crest to the bottom of the N-1 and have the N-1’s powerful engines propell the ship. That would have been cool. I loved Embo, although I didn’t really see him throw his hat 🙁
