The Mandalorian: Season 2

Movie description: It is clear that Din Djarin and Grogu have an inseparable bond and make a formidable team. Yet even they need help in unexpected places. In order to accomplish their missions, the two must pair up with several important characters, including Greef Karga, Bo Katan, and 'The Marshal'. Their most dangerous mission is still to come though in the form of defeating a powerful Imperial leader: Moff Gideon. And before the battle is won, Grogu must decide if he will stay with his loyal friend, or take up the ways of the Jedi and follow the infamous Luke Skywalker.

Chapter 9: The Marshal

On a quest to find more of the Child’s kind as well as other Mandalorians, Din Djarin and the his little green friend travel to Tatooine. Traveling to an old mining settlement known as Mos Pelgo, Djarin meets the Marshal of the town, Cobb Vanth, who is found to be wearing Mandalorian armor. Hoping to obtain the armor, the two strike on a deal – the Cobb will give him the armor if Djarin will help him kill a large krayt dragon that has been terrorizing their settlement. In an unexpected alliance, Djarin is able to convince the Tusken Raiders to work with them to stop the dragon that had been also eating the Tuskens’ banthas. But the Krayt dragon is larger than anyone knows – and it will taking every strategy they have to kill it. 

Chapter 10: The Passenger

After successfully aiding the Marshal, Cobb Vanth, in killing a krayt dragon, the Mandalorian continues his quest, now with a set of beskar armor that belonged to the renowned bounty hunter, Boba Fett. In speaking with Motto, Djarin learns that a frog-like sentient female who needs transportation might have a lead to help him in his quest to find other Mandalorians. Before Din can take the Frog Lady to her homeworld though, they are caught by a New Republic patrol and attempt to escape, crashing in the caves of a strange, frozen world. Working to repair the ship, he and the Child are in for serious danger when white ice spiders start to hatch.

Chapter 11: The Heiress

Arriving on the gas giant planet, Kol Iben, the Din is able to successfully reunite Frog Lady and her eggs with her husband who may have a clue about other Mandalorians. Directed to a Mon Calamari server, Djarin is told that he can find others wearing beskar by sailing a few hours away. But the lead is a trap – and Din and the Child quickly find themselves stuck in a holding cell of water within the ship, where a dangerous creature seeks to eat them. But before all hope is lost, several Mandalorians arrive on the ship and rescue the pair, revealing themselves as Bo-Katan Kyrze, Koska Reeves, and Axe Woves. From Bo-Katan, Din learns more about the various clans of Mandalorians that survived, including his own. And if he can learn to work with them, he may even learn a way to a Jedi that can help the Child. 

Chapter 12: The Siege

Traveling to Nevarro for repairs of his ship, the Razor Crest, Din Djarin is surprised to find the planet a central hub of trade and commerce after Greef Karga became magistrate. While waiting for the repairs, Djarin agrees to help Karga by attacking the last remaining Imperial base on Nevarro to free the planet from all old Imperial influence. Expected to find a largely abandoned base, Djarin and Nevarro Marshal, Cara Dune find the base occupied, and are even more surprised to find that it is actually a laboratory. The crew will have to work carefully to defeat the large number of stormtroopers swarming them – and destroy the base before its secrets are revealed to whoever is behind a growing Imperial plot. 

Chapter 13: The Jedi

Traveling to Corvus in search of a Jedi, Din Djarin and the Child are surprised to find the planet’s capital city in a state of terror due to a cruel ruler known as the Magistrate. Upon meeting with the magistrate, Morgan Elsbeth, Djarin is made an interesting offer: hunt down the Jedi plaguing Elsbeth’s tyrannic rule and she will give Din a spear of pure beskar. Heading out to the woods to find this Jedi, Djarin is attacked by none other than Ahsoka Tano. His defeat appears imminent, until she learns he sought her for help in training the Child. Tano reveals that the Child’s name is Grogu, and as the two connect through the Force, Grogu’s mysterious past is revealed. Tano, Grogu, and Djarin then must pair up to defeat the cruel Morgan Elsbeth and free the people of Calodan.

Chapter 14: The Tragedy

After receiving advice to take Grogu to a place strong in the Force known as the seeing stone, Djarin and Grogu travel to the planet Tython to find the mysterious site. But upon arriving at the stone, they spot another ship approaching and are met by Boba Fett and Fennec Shand. Demanding his armor back, Fett and Djarin nearly get into a duel when an Imperial cruiser arrives and several stormtroopers attack. Teaming up, Fett, Djarin and Shand are able to defeat the them, but not before the troopers capture Grogu and escape. Aboard the Imperial ship, Moff Gideon reveals he has deadly plans for the little would-be Jedi. 

Chapter 15: The Believer

Determined to rescue Grogu, Djarin and marshal Cara Dune temporarily release an ex-Imperial from prison to help them find Moff Gideon’s ship. Reluctant but hopeful to gain freedom, the ex-Imperial, Migs Mayfeld, leads them to the planet Morak, where there is a secret Imperial mining hub. After hijacking a juggernaut and fighting off pirates, Mayfeld and Djarin make it to the refinery, but can’t escape the suspicions of Imperial officer Valin Hess. If they can gain the information regarding Gideon’s starhip, they will still have to find a way out of the base alive – and to make matters worse, doing so may even require that Djarin remove his helmet.

Chapter 16: The Rescue

Intercepting an Imperial cruiser, Din Djarin is able to find Doctor Pershing – the Imperial scientist who had performed tests on Grogu. Threatening him, Din is able to determine the location of Moff Gideon’s star cruiser and quickly travels there in hopes of rescuing Grogu. Enlisting the help of Bo-Katan and Boba Fett, Djarin’s team are able to trick Gideon’s pilots to allow them to enter, but before they can rescue Grogu, Djarin is attacked by Moff Gideon. Grogu is nearly within his grasp after defeating the Imperial Moff, but soon Din and his team are surrounded by droid Dark Troopers that are impervious to nearly every kind of weapon. All hope is quickly fading – when a lone warrior arrives to help them in their time of need: Jedi Master Luke Skywalker.
