Shungbeek were a sentient species that breathed an argon-rich atmosphere, and had to wear an enclosed perspex dome to survive in other conditions. They had pale, white skin and large, unblinking red eyes with black pupils. Prior to pupation, they had short stature, but after pupating, are thought to grow much larger in stature.

Kid Malmash was a young Shungbeek who worked as a pilot, transporting refugees to safe destinations.
