Corellia was located in the Corellian sector in the Core Worlds. It had a temperate climate and was covered in forests, jungles, and urban centers. The official planetary colors of Corellia were blue and gold. One major city was Coronet City (also the planet’s capital), which was home to shipyards that, during the Imperial Era, produced TIE fighters and Star Destroyers for the Galactic Empire. The shipyards were one of Corellia’s most prominent characteristics in addition to being known for producing capable pilots. Corellia also manufactured the YT-1300 light freighter, including the Millennium Falcon.

The planet’s human inhabitants were called Corellians and were known for their wanderlust. Besides humans, Corellia was also inhabited by several alien species including Barbadelans, Besalisks, Czerialans, Grindalids, Kel Dor, Pa’lowicks, Rodians, Sullustans, Twi’leks, and Ugors. In addition, Corellia was also home to several native creatures including Corellian hounds and fleek eels. The politics of Corellia were often dangerous and sometimes drew blood, with different politicians vying for new positions and engaging in shady deals.
